Education is the foundation of a just and equal society. It is the key to unlocking opportunity, and it is the best way to ensure that all Americans have a fair shot at success. But our current education system is failing our students, particularly our most vulnerable students. It is perpetuating inequality, and it is holding us back from achieving our full potential as a nation.
In her groundbreaking new book, Education and Equality, Danielle Allen argues that we need to rethink the American dream. We need to move away from the idea that education is simply a means to a good job or a higher income, and we need to recognize that education is essential for a just and equitable society. Allen shows how our current education system perpetuates inequality, and she offers a vision for a more equitable future.
Allen's book is a must-read for anyone who cares about the future of our country. It is a powerful indictment of our current education system, and it is a hopeful vision for a more just and equitable future.
